Combat **Shooting**

Shooting from cover, on the move and under time pressure, based on the methods of military and police special units.

What combat shooting means

Sport shooting happens in a lane, with time to aim and a target that stands still. Combat shooting starts where that ends: you draw from the holster, move through the space, work from behind cover and hit under time pressure. It is not about the tightest group on paper, it is about acting correctly under stress.

We teach this the way military and police special units do, in small groups and with an instructor who comes from exactly that background. Shooting from cover, magazine changes under pressure, the instinctive point shot at close range and clearing malfunctions are not extras here, they are the core of the training.

Part of the training uses FX marking ammunition. That turns it into force on force: you are not facing a paper target but a person who moves and shoots back. It is the most honest feedback training can give.

The combat formats assume you handle a firearm safely and can shoot accurately. If you are not there yet, start with Pistole Basic, and we will tell you honestly what suits you.

Frequently asked questions about combat shooting
01
What is combat shooting?
Combat shooting means shooting under the conditions a real situation would impose: on the move, from cover, after drawing from the holster and under time pressure. It trains the instinctive point shot at close range, magazine changes, clearing malfunctions and moving through a space with the firearm.
02
What is shooting from cover and do you train it?
Shooting from cover means using an obstacle as protection and firing past it in a controlled way, instead of moving freely in the open. It is a fixed part of our combat formats, along with drawing from the holster, moving with the firearm and magazine changes.
03
What are the prerequisites?
You should handle the firearm safely and shoot accurately. The more advanced formats also assume you can perform the unaimed point shot at close range and clear malfunctions. If you are new, Pistole Basic is the right entry point, followed by Combat Basic.
04
What is force on force and what is FX ammunition?
FX is marking ammunition that may be fired at people when the prescribed protective equipment is worn. It lets you train against an opponent who moves and reacts rather than against paper. That creates real stress and shows honestly how much of your technique survives under pressure.
05
Do I need a firearms licence for combat training?
On our officially approved range you shoot under the supervision of our instructors. What a specific format requires you to bring depends on the course and is stated with each workshop. If you are unsure, call us before you book.
06
Where does the combat training take place?
At our range at Rothergasse 2, 1220 Vienna. The shortest walk is from the Süßenbrunner Straße bus stop, served by lines 95A and 22A, around 8 to 9 minutes on foot.
